For 36 years, this little station on Jefferson has kept Lebanon moving.

Terry Martin grew up in Mountain Grove before joining the Air Force. When he left the military in 1989, he came home to the Ozarks without much of a plan for what came next.

Then he heard Duard Johnson was selling his service station at Jefferson and Third.

Terry came to Lebanon, met with Duard and bought it. He moved his family to town, bringing his two young children, Jeremy and Aaron, with him.

That was 1990.

More than three decades later, Martin’s One Stop is still here. Jeremy now runs it alongside his dad, and Aaron runs two stations of his own.

A lot can happen between not knowing what comes next and building a life.

That’s what Paving the Way is about.

For two weeks each summer, teens get time to learn some of the things adulthood is going to ask of them. How to drive. How to take care of a car. How to manage money, cook a meal and walk confidently into an interview.

The Martins give generously because community matters to them. This summer, that included Paving the Way. They know what those two weeks can mean for a teenager preparing for what’s ahead.

It’s what the Martins have been doing for 36 years.

Keeping Lebanon moving.
