September 2020 Scavenger Hunt

The Hunt begins September 9th and will last until September 20th at midnight. Please submit all of your items before the hunt ends. Complete 5 items per family to get your buttons.

The items list:

  1. Blow a bubble and pop it with your nose (video)
  2. Find 5 wildflowers, identify at least 1 (photo) Use the Missouri Department of Conservation website to help you identify the flowers. https://nature.mdc.mo.gov/discover-nature/field-guide/search
  3. Learn one cat’s cradle string figure and demonstrate your new skill (video or photo)
  4. Play a family board game (photo)
  5. Watch a movie together and eat some popcorn. Bonus points if you find a creative way to feed the popcorn to each other. (photo or video)
  6. Create a real rainbow and capture it in a photo. Use water or a prism or whatever you can to create your rainbow. (photo)
  7. Find something shiny and take a picture. (photo)
  8. Find the smallest animal (or bug) you can and take a picture. (photo)
  9. The oldest known tree in the US is over 4,800 years old (a bristlecone pine tree in California). Find the biggest tree you can and take a photo. (photo)
  10. Draw a picture of your favorite place. (photo)
  11. Find a really cool rock. Show it to us! (photo)

  13. Make a hat out of fruit, show us your creation. Bonus points for eating the fruit. (photo)
  14. Dress up like you’re on a family vacation and take a picture. Are you on the beach in Hawaii, skiing in the mountains, or somewhere magical? (photo)
  15. Find a coin that was minted in the year of your birth. (photo)
  16. Write a letter to your favorite Disney character and mail it to: Walt Disney World Communications, P.O. Box 10040, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830-0040 You may get something back. (photo)
  17. Matthew 22:39 says “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Using proper social distancing, give a gift to your neighbor. (photo)
  18. Follow a recipe to make something for your family to eat. Show us what you made. (photo)
  19. Paper airplane contest! Make paper airplanes and see who can throw theirs the farthest. If you really want to kick it up a notch, set up a target (like a laundry basket) and see who can make it in! (photo or video).
