Finances are a reality most teens get to avoid until they can’t.

This week, MU Extension in Laclede County brought a financial simulation to Paving the Way. Each student received a packet with a job, an income, and a life situation. Then they worked through stations set up around the room. Groceries, housing, health insurance, transportation, and all the things that make adult life go.

The students had to make it all fit on a budget. Real numbers. Real choices. A real adult at each table to talk it through.
Some budgets balanced. Some didn’t.

That’s exactly why it matters.

Thank you to MU Extension for investing in these students and showing up for this community every day.
