Behind every hour these students spend behind the wheel is a significant investment in their future. And in the futures of everyone who shares the road with them.
The Missouri Department of Transportation‘s Highway Safety and Traffic Division awarded Live 2 Give Hope a federal grant to fund the driving component of Paving the Way. That grant covers the instructor, the curriculum, the vehicles, and the behind-the-wheel hours that give students the real experience they need to earn their license.
Driver education is expensive. For young people who have experienced foster care, it is often completely out of reach. MoDOT recognized that and did something about it. Because safer drivers don’t just benefit the students. They benefit every family on every road in Missouri.
