Every newborn deserves to come home wrapped in warmth.
Fostering Hope Closet partners with Newborns in Need, a Springfield-based nonprofit that hand-makes and collects layettes for babies.
Newborns in Need provides for nearly 1,000 little ones each month and serves 80 agencies in Springfield and the surrounding area.
Volunteers sew, knit and quilt at their facility or at home. They receive beautiful knitted baby afghans, pieced quilts, sleepers, soft and cuddly toys and so much more. They send items to agencies in 32 different counties throughout Missouri and Northern Arkansas.
Each layette includes:
- Sleepers
- A blanket or quilt
- A book
- A hat
- A soft toy
These items are available now at the Fostering Hope Closet for families welcoming a newborn into foster, kinship, guardianship, or adoptive care.
